A GUIDE TO NOWHERE

survival

This event will be taking place in an outdoor location that is unforgiving in many ways. Please come prepared and be careful.

The daytime sun is intense and hot, and there is NO shade except for what you bring. Similar to burning man or the desert, sun hats, sun umbrellas, sun block, sunglasses, and shade structures are absolutely necessary.

Weather systems in the prairie are unpredictable. Bring clothes for various temperatures. Monsoons, high winds, blistering heat and freezing cold should all be anticipated.

The cacti in the area are hardcore, and will tear through most tennis shoes and most tires. Wear adequate protection.

If lightning storms are nearby, the safest place to be is in a car. If there are no cars nearby, get as close to the ground as possible.

This land is extremely hazardous for fires. Campfires, fireworks, charcoal burning BBQs, and other dangerous fire activities are not permitted. Coleman type camping stoves are ok. Please be careful with cigarettes. (always pick up your butts!)

Bring LOTS of water, at least 1 gallon per person per day, plus extra for washing dishes, or drenching your body. There are no water services of any kind.

Bring enough food for 3 days. There will not be any organized vending.

There is a cow watering hole nearby, don't drink from it or bathe in it. (nasty!)

The poisonous snakes in the area will stay away from the soundsystem, and usually travel at night or in the early morning. If you walk away from the soundsystem, look out for them.

Don't handle, corner, or harass the lizards and other small prairie life.

We have been asked to not remove arrowheads and other relics from the grasslands.

Last minute information will be posted at nowhere HQ, please familiarize yourself with it.

Take your trash with you when you leave.

When you leave, take your trash with you.

vehicles

Carpooling is strongly encouraged.

Bring a spare tire, and the necessary equipment to change it.

Do not drive anywhere that is not clearly marked for travel. The cacti will puncture most tires easily.

Drive slow on the dirt roads, to avoid kicking up excess dust.

Ground clearance is helpful in navigating the "unimproved roads". Though most terrain is suitable for small cars, adverse weather could make it more difficult. If you have a choice in vehicles, take the one that is the most durable off road.

donate

We are intentionally keeping the suggested ticket price low, to encourage donating to the individual soundsystems. They are all incurring expense to be here, and offered their talents at no charge. Please show them your support by donating to them directly.
